Enjoy a round of clays before or after your hunt on our trap field. In a non-competitive environment, work on your shots or introduce a beginner or member of your family to the shotgun sports. In addition to standard oscillating mode, our 540 clay capacity Pat-Trap machine can be set to throw specific angles. Work on your quartering shots or set it to throw down the center of the field to work on your fundamentals or to introduce a beginner. Our trap field is also available during the off-season. New to the shotgun sports or have a beginner in your family? Get started safely and with proper fundamental form by attending a class or private lesson. Firearm Safety Training, Inc. offers the NRA FIRST Steps Shotgun Course monthly March through October. Each course is limited to a maximum of 4 students to ensure the best quality instruction. Private one-on-one or small group lessons are also available year round and can be customized to meet your needs. Trap Range Rules

Always keep your shotgun pointed in a safe direction.

If you don’t intend to shoot it, don’t point your gun at it!

Never assume a gun is unloaded.

Always check the chamber(s) and magazine of a gun for live rounds when picking up a gun.

Always carry shotguns unloaded, actions open, and muzzles pointed in a safe direction.

It’s strongly recommended wearing eye and ear protection while on the range.

Load only when it’s your turn.

Change or leave stations with an unloaded gun, actions open, and muzzle pointed in a safe direction. When walking from station 5 to 1, walk behind other shooters on the line.

Carry only one gauge of shotgun shells at a time.

Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until you are ready to call for the target.

If a misfire occurs, keep the muzzle pointed downrange for at least 30 seconds before opening the action. If you ever hear or feel something different (not as loud, less recoil) when shooting, immediately unload your gun and check for a possible barrel obstruction.

Never shoot mixed handicap squads more than 2 yards apart.

If delays occur while shooting that requires personnel in the trap field or trap house, immediately unload your gun, keep actions open, and muzzle pointed in a safe direction until the problem is solved.
